Progranm files & online help

 The software consists of two parts. Both are available as WinZip-Files or installation programs:
slotman.exe, jnutl.dll, gwiopm.sys and readme.txt are contained in one, the help files in the other part. The help-files are not required for SlotMan to run correctly but highly recommended. If you decide to use the WinZip-Archives, unzip both archives into a single folder.

If you upgrade from an older version of SlotMan, backup the slotman.dat-file first, install the new version and copy the old slotman.dat into the newly created folder.

The current version of slotman supports slotman.dat files that have been created by version 6.0.8 or later.
Since the track system management has been completely redesigned since version 10.3.8, youŽll have to go through the following steps to upgrade a slotman.dat-file that has been written with 9.3.8 or earlier for use with the current version:
  1. Create a backup copy of your slotman.dat file
  2. Install the current version of Slotman
  3. Start Slotman
  4. The track editor now offers four track systems. The first three are the ones from the "old" version of Slotman. The fourth is the sum of the first three. Normally those three arenŽt needed anymore. Now all designed tracks should be checked.
  5. If all tracks have been converted correctly, the first three track systems may be deleted (Manage/Track Systems). If youŽre questioned about which track system is to be used for replacing, choose the new (the 4th) one.
  6. Now the new track system should be given the correct name.
  7. End Slotman, save changes.
